THE FIGHTING QUAKER

The story of General Nathanael Greene's campaigns with the Army of the South during the Revolutionary War is exciting reading for anyone gripped by the emergencies that dog a makeshift, guerilla warfare. Greene's early life is well portrayed too. Convincing accounts are given of his decision to go against his Quaker faith to be a patriot, as well as his magnanimity and the hard won tactical skill that made his choice as the man to help Francis Marion an excellent one.
