First rate collection of stories about sports - prep school, High School, a few small colleges (I think one West-Point-Swarthmore story was the only large eastern school background). And the sports covered include not only baseball and football, but the less hackneyed subjects of lacrosse, basketball, track, yacht racing, even one rodeo story. Boys' stories for the most part- but two make bows to girls in sports. The authors are in the main rather unfamiliar names, but they know their stuff, the fundamental values are sound, and the stories read well.
