THE GREEK AFFAIR

Ives, an American, still bruised over the breakup of his marriage, finds himself with the body of an importunate Greek woman- Athene Petrakis- in his hotel room, leaving him with a coin which proves to be the oldest in the world. The search for her killer takes him to Greece, to her younger sister Electra, to a tholos where a cache of Mycenean coins is buried, and to her former husband, believed dead, who proves to be very much alive. And so is Mr. Gruber's story, which in spite of its alpha beta gamma formula, wears winged sandals.
