KIRKUS REVIEW

John Slater's search for the truth about the five men who died horrible deaths in a Utah stockade, and particularly the sixth who vanished, leads him to Denver, Texas, St. Louis, Arizona and Wyoming. His travels are parallelled by Col. Orpington and his resourceful daughter, Susan, and Slater is mixed up in a range war and an outlaw gang before his investigation reveals the story of stolen gold and treachery. Energetic.
