KIRKUS REVIEW

A brief introductory section plays up the part of skiing in war -- and of our own 10th Mountain Division and their training at Camp Hale, their service in Italy. The major part of the book is a how-to-do-it book, based on fundamental principles closely linked with the structure of skis. Discussion of the sport -- and its history --of resorts and their appeal, of various aspects and phases, of outfit and care, of ski-school and snowraft and mountaineering. And of organization in the future to bring skiing within reach of millions. 32 pp. photographs; 25 diagram inserts. The inter-relation of photographs and text (not available at the moment) will be conclusive evidence of the practical value of this book for anything but ""pep talk"" and inspiration.
