UP THE TRAIL AND DOWN THE STREET

By

Publisher: Macmillan

Mr. Jupo's record of amusing stories with a social content that comments on the accidental to purposeful ways in which man has become more efficient (see his Hinkelkinkl, Nothing to Wear but Clothes, etc.) grows space. Now comes the biography of a single road, in the form of stories told to a boy who uses it today. First it was a trail made by an Indian boy, Look-in-the-Sky, then an escape route for a fort in danger, then the site of an inn which gathered a town around it which called its road Main Street. Incidents that could easily have happened are at the center of each episode.
