KIRKUS REVIEW

First published in 1855, Mountains and Molehills, by the son of the novelist Frederick Marryat, Frank Marryat, is a lively and detailed story of life in San Francisco and the California gold camps in the early 1850's. It tells also of the Isthmus route to the gold fields, of which there are relatively few records.
