PETER PAINTER AND THE HOLIDAYS by Frank Martin Webber

PETER PAINTER AND THE HOLIDAYS

By

Publisher: David McKay

More tales of the little brown elf and his magic paints. These are holiday stories. He paints the squirrels' nuts, and the spiders' webs for the forest folks Christmas tree, he lights it with moonlight, and tops it with a star. He helps Mother Rabbit decorate her Easter eggs. And the only wholly original story is the one about Fourth of July, with dandelion fluff Roman candles, cattail skyrockets, daisy pinwheels, pelting stones for firecrackers, and his own painted jacket as a flag. Fairy tales -- and there are still lots of children who like them. Vera Neville has again made charming pictures in color. A gay book -- good value.
