KIRKUS REVIEW

I've wondered when these stories, popular through the South where readers of Hollands Magazine have been enjoying them, would appear in book form. Now here are the first three, in a single volume, telling the adventures of the little elf with the magic paint pots, and how he helps brighten the world with his paints. There is Peter Painter and the No-Home Animals; Peter Painter and the Faded Pinafore, and Peter Painter and Timid Fawn. Fantasy with a realistic twist, well done, and illustrated by one of my favorites, Vera Neville. Good story teller material -- read aloud -- or second and third grade reading.
