KIRKUS REVIEW

The sports fiction devotee may resent the girls mixed up in this one, but the baseball and the style are up to the mark. Jim Ramsey, bonus rooke with the Quakers, finds himself rooming with bitter Clark Shane, a cynical catcher who nurses a hatred of bonus players, as the rule had sent him back once to the minors. The two personalities clash, but in the end both make the grade. Jim pitching and Shane catching for the Quakars, and both have become involved for life with charming girls. Plenty of game action, too.
