Non conformist mystery western, modern set and modern toned, of a two family Montague-Capulet hangover. A much married authoress, Phoebe Dover, has lost her only love, a Seeley, in a killing for which her husband took the rap. On the eve of her fourth marriage, she is shot herself. Her daughter's boy friend, a newspaper man, takes hold and crimes past and present are cleared up. A distinct change for the better in quality of plot and handling.
