HANDBOOK OF DENOMINATIONS IN THE U.S. by Frank S. Mead

HANDBOOK OF DENOMINATIONS IN THE U.S.

By

Pub Date: April 13th, 1961
Publisher: Abingdon Press

As complete a history and as fair and accurate a description of all religious bodies in the United States as can be found. First published ten years ago, the compiler, Mr. Frank S. Mead, has rechecked all factual information, secured directly from denominational headquarters or other authorities, and added such information as is now deemed important for a fair and complete picture of each church group. Some which first appeared have now been dropped, due to mergers, the ravages of time, or failure to secure replies to repeated requests for information. There will be future revisions which the continuing history of the churches in the United States seem to demand it. As an invaluable, trustworthy reference book, this volume should be found in the libraries of all clergy and churches, and of course the public libraries.
