Rewriting the headlines for the airminded youngsters of today, these two tales, one set ""somewhere in the South Pacific"", the other ""action over the Mediterranean"", are linked by Captain Steel, who is a Major in the second story. The first concerns a small island and the arrival of a green, blundering and very brave C.O., who learns his lessons the hard way and almost dooms a mission to prevent Jap knowledge of American invasion plans.
