A book for the same market to which you sold Ralston's Ring and The Saga of the Comstock Lode, though it is a somewhat more journalistic report of Stratton's life, with less attempt to recreate the atmosphere and background of the period. A man whose life has stamped itself upon Colorado, but whose fame spread little beyond financial and engineering circles outside his own state. His personality lacked the glamor of some of his contemporaries, and this meticulous study of the man and his career is enlightening and interesting reading. At times one feels that a little more selection of detail would have made it a better book, but doubtless it is all needed to rescue his reputation from the shadows where it has lain.
