WHEN DOCTORS DISAGREE

Here within a month, is another medical novel, based on the problems of women in medicine (the other was Hannah Lees' Women Will Be Doctors -- Random House). Prejudice again rears its ugly head -- the position which competent Margaret Ferris has earned is given to another. The question of marriage and the profession is also a factor. The story is fairly obvious, the situations are more or less predictable, but it is well handled, credible in the telling, with a warmth that does not descend to sentimentality, and with the medical aspects striking a note of authenticity. This was serialized in the L.H.J. under the title, Women in White.
