KIRKUS REVIEW

Rentals, yes -- but well above par, intelligently handled and thoroughly readable. The story revolves around the daughter of a man, famous in shipping, who leaves her penniless at his death. She lands a difficult job as governess to a child left motherless in the hands of her mother's lover. Paige takes them both on for a good job of emotional house cleaning, makes the house a gay and normal place, and breaks the hold of the dead woman. Briskly told and a good yarn.
