EXPLORING BY SATELLITE

With the Sputnick-sputter, this brief pictorial approach to satellites ought to answer the fundamental questions of the uninitiated. The author, an assistant astronomer at Hayden Planetarium, predigests some of the technical terminology, leaving plenty of gristle for the teen-aged reader to tackle. The tone of the book is admirable. The author does not project with assertions of certainty the time intervals or the exact procedures through which man will vault to the planets. His predictions seem guardedly cautious enough to be reliable. This is capsule photo-journalistic treatment, quite brief, for a quick run-down on the satellite situation. There are many large helpful diagrams and drawings which will clarify many questions concisely.
