Good description of Mayan life and its cultural background. Not pedantic. Good readable job. Growing interest in Mexico has stimulated interest in Yucatan as well. Frans Blom, of Tulane, has a wide reputation through his archeological research, and the exhibition of Mayan art which he sponsored.
