FIFTH PLANET

Prof. Hoyle is a very literate scientist (a live rebuttal to C.P. Snow) and even if you don't understand his predictive fourth dimension, you can follow with ease and enjoy what happens after Hugh Conway discovers a new (fifth) planet and both America and Russia race in space to land there. However members of both exploring parties are strangely affected; a creature returns in the body of a dying Astronaut and then usurps that of Conway's wife, ultimately to set off an atom war in this grave new world. The transmigration is successful- not only from mind to body but also from science to fiction.
