DRUMS WITHOUT WARRIORS

Sam Colter returns to his Red Mound, Oklahoma home county with his aging horse Slip Along who droops in spots but proves he can still win a match race against the contender of the slickest man in the town. But that's only part of what this not too wild western is all about since Red Mound has fallen on hard times--the Indians killed off or ""slinking"" around like coyotes, the more upstanding whites victimized too. Grove, like Slip Along, stirs the dust a little and when it clears leaves a firm impression that he knows just what he's doing and does it well.
