CAREER PLANNING FOR THE BLIND by Fred L. Crawford

CAREER PLANNING FOR THE BLIND

By

Pub Date: Aug. 15th, 1966
Publisher: Farrar, Straus & Giroux

Presented as ""A Manual for Students and Teachers,"" this book is easy to read and commonsensical. It does not place emphasis on the handicap of blindness for the person considering his or her career; in fact, there is almost a de-emphasis, with only one chapter directly concerned with how blindness may affect the development of a career. The rest of the book takes up goals, the labor market, choosing an occupation, community resources and occupational information, laws and customs governing employment in the United States, getting a job oneself or through other channels. The text is supplemented by workbook assignments for each chapter and a bibliography.
