PATTERN FOR SUCCESSFUL LIVING

Bishop Corson of the Methodist Church has given us a book which is intended to be a commentary of life, its meaning and purpose. The twenty six short chapters are not sermons nor lectures on psychotherapy, although the insights of both of these fields are utilized. The author writes for normal people whose lives have in them the elements of weakness and the sources of strength. It is based on the assumption that such people are ""striving to get from where they are to where they want to be"", and that in order to achieve that goal they must realize the full meaning of life. An indication of the approach of the author may be gained from the following among the chapter headings: Life's Definition, Life's Destinations, Life's Decisions, Life's Assumptions, Life's Helpers, Life's Master Thought, Life's Fixed Star. The book abounds in practical and sound advice and is a good one for pastors to give to their young people just starting out or to their floundering parishioners.
