KIRKUS REVIEW

A relentlessly modernistic handling of propaganda material in fiction form, and a book which leaves a bad taste in the mouth, a sense of futility, hopelessness, and confusion. The story of two factions in a textile mill town -- the bosses and allied with them, an ex mill hand, now in a position which he wants to keep; and the workers, on strike, and spurred on to sabotage by the fanatical son of the owner.
