THE LEANING TOWER

The most important character in this book is the skyscraper -- and the most interesting parts of the book are the sections dealing with the building of the mammoth tower -- and the saving it from destruction. In the character of the architect, defeated by life, but finding himself in his work, we have something of the theme of his earlier book; but this is a richer canvas, and a less stark presentation. Worth reading, for its appeal to a limited and highly selective audience.
