Am and Ed Hunter, the popular uncle/nephew detective team, get pulled into Vincent Dolan's life unwillingly but completely. Dolan, a numbers racket king, chooses to live in the middleclass manner, but one of his intimates has fingered him for death in the time honored gangland tradition. The only possible solution is given away early on and then craftily covered up as only Brown can do it.
