KIRKUS REVIEW

A valiant attempt to immortalize the seven-game series of early fall which baseball men have egotistically called the ""World Series"". Taking the baseball fan through an elementary series-by-series history from the 1880's to 1948, this comprises a pretty sizeable record- perhaps too strenuous except for the most ardent fans as each series is described game by game and almost pitch by pitch. But with the interest in this sport, which reaches its climax of excitement in this series, there will be a faithful following for its written record.
