A fragment of the last war in the C.B.I. theatre which projects a romance against a background of battle action, of rivalry between the British and native troops, and a dying colonial concept. Leigh Deventer, a newshen, meets Brigadier General Van Wurtsler whom she'd known eight years ago, at a time of tight danger when the city is being evacuated, the enemy approaching. At first unresponsive and regretful of the change in herself, Leigh eventually realizes her love for Van after a few weeks of uncertainty and apprehension as to his safety... An obvious play on some tired notions and notions, this too will fade away.
