KIRKUS REVIEW

Bob Spitzer, only reporter on the Mayville, Arizona, paper, closely reconstructs a life to resolve the death of Amy Waggoner, a lush, found murdered in the local motel. Always alone, with her bottle, there are no men to connect with the crime; a trace of heroin is a throwaway; and only her source of income provides the single lien to her life in Mayville- and her death... Not savory- but sound.
