KIRKUS REVIEW

True railroad stories by a reliable writer- illustrator team- Kurt Wiese has done the pictures- who have hit the train market successfully before with The Round Cat and Vinnie R Casey Jones, hefty John Henry, tales of exciting heroism much as the time when Car No. 69 of the St. Paul and Duluth line and its engineers saved the people of Hinckley from a forest fire throng a volume of track and whistle lore that dips into pretty nearly all of the stages of American railroading. A nice book for the stage beyond the first wonderings of train time and going places, or for solid Americans.
