Dog breeders are a generally disputations if jolly lot, and if American Boxer buffs may not wholeheartedly subscribe to the contention that Mrs. Stockmann's pioneering work in Bavatia over the years in her Von Dom strain of Boxer is a determining factor in the American Boxer, this is still a bonus for the fancy. Certainly Frau Stockmann lives and loves animals, particularly the square-faced Boxer. Her absorption in the training, breeding and improvement of the breed is of that all-encompassing magnitude hardly surprising to dog people, although the lowly pet fancier may quait at the bland reactions to the events of two World Wars. Many lovely little sketches by the author, and handsome photographs adorn the book. Breed specialty, translated from the German.
