KIRKUS REVIEW

High price for a photographic book on that recently tourist discovered U.S. possession, the Virgin Islands. The text provides a brief historical survey, notes on the various occupations and what they contributed, something of the buccaneers, the slave trade, sugar cane, rum; more of the natives, their occupations, their music, their particular quality. But the photographs make the book- as they made his Hawaii, Paris, Mexico.
