KIRKUS REVIEW

This should be brought to the attention of clubwomen, various types of organizations, any individuals or groups planning conferences, discussion panels, etc. The widespread growth of interest in audience participation makes a book of this sort particularly timely, pertinent. Step by step procedure for planning, organizing, and leading private and public discussions; definition, purpose, method, preparation, all weighed and developed. Much of the material is in general terms, but each type of group discussion is taken up, the leader's job analyzed, consideration given to committe organization and handling, and specific cases and examples given to illustrate points. An appendix suggests reference material for discussion group book shelves, references on discussion leadership. Important book for all public libraries, college libraries, etc.
