A MAN AND HIS RELIGION by G. Curtis Jones

A MAN AND HIS RELIGION

Under a number of chapter topics-- A Man and His Bible, God, Christ, Church, Time, Money, Country, etc. etc., the author compiles anecdotes, bits of poems, historical and literary allusions, strung on a traditional--not to say platitudinous-- thread. The result is akin to a series of sermons, of the sort that once might have been widely accepted as serviceable religion, but that sound strangely pious, trivial, and irrelevant for today. Surface indications suggest that the author could give the reader something more substantial if he set himself to avoid the obvious and concentrate on the significant.
