IN WIRBEL DER BERUFUNG (In The Whiripool of a Vocation)

Laid in Germany at the beginning of the 19th century, this is the story of a young dramatist -- Gotter. An early marriage, then a chance to make his career at one of the smaller courts where he meets a young actress for whom he almost gives up his career and marriage. The appearance of his wife, just in time, proves a shock which is too much for Gotter, but after his subsequent illness, he recovers and finds himself changed into a mature man. Beautifully written and a perfect picture of a century ago.
