KIRKUS REVIEW

Political fiction, but a readable, normal, if somewhat stolid story of a farmer and his two sons. The scene is laid in the hill country of Southern Germany. The farmer and the elder son are overanxious, overpessimistic, but the younger son, active and enthusiastic, inspires in both a happier outlook by the close of the book, illustrating the values of hard work and faith.
