A rather enchanting story of the little Berlin girl, Daniela. After her first visit to the theatre, she becomes convinced of her vocation, and after much coaxing, striving, and hard work becomes the first ballerina in the Berlin opera. Though the plot is imaginary, the theater life is well studied and portrayed by the author. There is no reference to time, though the assumption can be made that it is modern, and needless to say, all present day political and social events are avoided. Light, but engaging.
