Gahan Wilson, usually adept at the managed macabre, flies out of control in creating the gruesome, pink-fleshed Bang Bang family who sit down to eat ""with a lot of BANG BANGing of plates and a BANG BANGIng of spoons and a BANG BANGing of knives"" and continue ""washing BANG BANG and undressing BANG BANG and putting on their nightclothes BANG BANG."" Both the noisy joke and its didactic purpose as a ridiculous example are obvious, but a whole day of nothing but aimless BANG BANGING takes a lot of stamina. We agreed with the quiet mouse who pokes his head out of the wall at the very end to say, ""Thank goodness that's all over. . . .
