KIRKUS REVIEW

A solid, stimulating contribution to literature on education, this is the record of a successful attempt to change the pattern of education in one college. The changes, begun in 1947, were the substitution of a more intensive four course program for the first two years with seminar type periods; and the integration of previously separate subjects in one course. To any educator, to parents, to prospective Amherst students, this is significant.
