MR. BUDGE BUYS A CAR

A lively cartoon history of four-wheeled transportation (supplemented with diagrams and photos) that contains much more technical information than the format suggests. The evolving vehicles are pictured and described, culminating in an explanation of how the parts in a modern car function and a few words about the future. In appearance, this is a cross between Jupo and a world's fair exhibit, and the large-page, little-text character (coupled with the fact that all this can be found in a dozen other books) limits and locates the audience, i.e., kids who'd rather view than read.
