UNDER THE AXE OF FASCISM

I think the title is misleading. Call attention of your customers to the fact that it is a comprehensive survey of the Italian Fascist movement, its effect on the state, the country, the individual, its achievements and its failures. There is nothing of the personal human side that I expected from the title and from my knowledge of Dr. Salvemini's political exile. The book is definitely directed to those who seriously want to know how Fascism is working. It is not a book for the wider public interested in the dramatic, human aspects, and wanting to get the whole picture in tabloid form. Documented almost to the point of making it extremely difficult reading, but through this means he makes the Fascists condemn themselves out of their own months.
