From the year old Danny Thornburg moves to the basement to make room for his fire eating grandfather. Titus, life becomes eventful. Titus gets Danny a job with ig Barth who separate: a struggling little airline. Here Danny meets the Tin Goose a old which looks ungraceful but flies like a bird. As a result of Titus' attempts to help build business Danny is in constant trouble. Eventually Danny the man to Brookton for his interference. But the Tin Goose and Titus prove themselves when a town near Brockton is flooded. Only the Goose can reach the town and only Titus' ancient can cross the flooded roads. In learning to accept each other, Danny and Titus reconcile the past with the present, taking the best of both. This is a book young people will not be able to put down.
