All Falling Down (1951) the first book done by the author and his illustrator wife, Margaret Bloy Graham, was an enticing round up- of things that fall and things that don't. So too is the hide and seek game- around the house, in the wide world, and as Jimmy plays it with his friends. Careful construction links the ideas- of a puppy hiding a shoe, of a train going behind a mountain, of fish in a stream, or a policeman's horse hunting for sugar- and the sweeping pastel colored pictures, familiar in style through Charles Norman's Jonquil stories- have a wealth of detail for the sight hungry young.
