Genevieve Holden's first in ten years and they show--particularly in her desperate attempt to keep up with modern times in Atlanta where Dinah and her grandmother find themselves next door to a commune (""The Grass Menagerie"") and assorted ""winos"" and ""bikers."" The murder of one of them brings to light a questionable traffic, promotes a romance for Dinah, and the reconciliation of the family. Author Holden seems uneasily perched halfway between what she calls the ""Polident set"" and her Southern sweet young thing, and it's a floppy story at best.
