KIRKUS REVIEW

Nature equips many of her creatures with fortifications similar to the protective devices developed by knighthood. The author explores the parallel between the clubs, spikes and chain mail which fortified human warriors and their counterparts, extinct and extant in the animal kingdom, i.e., the stegosaurus, ankylosaurus, triceratops of prehistoric times, and the contemporary armadillo, crocodile, turtle and porcupine.
