Caryl Houselander has done a full page illustration on each theme. It works rather like a game -- look at the picture -- what do you see -- this is the story -- now look again. It is the kind of book that children will like and from which they will learn many a useful lesson. He presents but twelve meditations -- the familiar Ignatian ones. Others have exposed the exercises more at length. Few have done so as clearly. This book should be put in the hands of all grammar-grade children. Principals of your parochial schools will welcome it as an excellent means of teaching children to act not by impulse but on principle. Directors of retreats also will find Father Bliss' work of valuable assistance to them.
