KIRKUS REVIEW

Scotland Yard's Littlejohn tucked away on a rum go in the small town of Brookfield when the secretary of a mill, who is also the church organist, is done away with, in a bad disguise. Littlejohn, thoroughgoing and patient, bares family scandals of the Fennings, owners of the mill, together with local gossip and acquits himself successfully. British slow freight -- but it gets there.
