FORTY YEARS -- FORTY MILLIONS

By

Publisher: Farrar & Rinehart

Here's a candidate for the City Editor market, -- the story of the sensational career of Frank Munsey. The biographer frankly acknowledges that this is not an ""authorized biography"" -- that he has had to depend on word of mouth anecdotal material, on records he can run down himself. Result -- Munsey emerges as a more or less legendary figure, cold, unhappy, rich -- a self-made man with a tremendous ambition and a hampering streak of the Puritan. He made his start in magazines -- turned next to newspapers, where he murdered many -- then to politics. What a tale he tells. Good reading.
