ZORRA

A sequel to Tricky, here's the story of the she-fox daughter of Tricky and Vixen. Ryan and Stevens, the miners who befriended her parents, look after Zorra. Nature lovers will happily follow the adventures of the little fox as she pits her wits against a trapper and a wolverine with the help of her friend, Bum, a young dog. There is verisimilitude in the depiction of a partly domesticated wild animal discovering safety and danger in the forest. Sentences are short for easy reading, with a simple vocabulary and large type to help rusty readers, but the plot is somewhat episodic.
