THE SADDLE OF CARLOS PEREZ by George E. Tait

THE SADDLE OF CARLOS PEREZ

By

Publisher: Westminster

This warm, appealing story of eleven-year-old Carlos Perez and his dreams of owning a beautiful saddle, fit for the son of a vaquero, affords an authentic picture of ranch life in South America. Although the money he had saved for his saddle had been burned when his house was destroyed, Carlos still continued to aid his father and the rancher, Don Jaime, in the search for cattle ranchers who were stealing stock from the Colombian ranch. Through Carlos' sharp eyes and quick wits the thieves are captured and Carlos wins the saddle. Excellent regional material as the setting and the people are real and vigorously drawn. Atmospheric black and white sketches by the author. A glossary of Spanish words used in the text.
