PLANNING FOR AMERICA

By

Publisher: Holt

The field Representative of the National Economic and Social Planning Association has presented in this volume a symposium of opinion and inquiry into the progress of and social planning in the United States. To this end he has selected experts in each field (unfortunately, too many write as professors and theorists rather than practical engineers). A common outline, covering nature of the study, agencies, problems, solutions, and possible futures as well as special application in time of war, was presented to such contributor. The conclusion- the necessity of long range planning to avoid depressions, to use to the full human and material resources, to preserve social and gains, to make the transition from free to partially controlled economy. Covers nature and physical aspects, resource planning, economic planning, social planning, areas planning, defense and overall aspects in war and peace. Useful reference but too for average laymen.
